Formed in Paris in 2019, AUTŌMATA is an instrumental quartet that pushes the boundaries of post-rock. Guitars, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, electronics and drums intertwine to create a richly textured, deeply cinematic sound where melody, atmosphere and tension gradually unfold. Blending post-rock, progressive rock, ambient, electronic music, folk and post-metal, AUTŌMATA builds its music through slow developments, layered textures and powerful crescendos. Their sound moves between delicate, contemplative passages and explosive instrumental moments, while never losing its strong sense of melody.
