[EN] Doppler, a trio from Lyon formed in 1997, is a highly active and relentless band. Their music, both powerful and refined, is paired with an oppressive atmosphere, lying somewhere between influences like Jesus Lizard, Chokebore, Shellac, and even the French band Sleeppers. Their sound is massive, primal, complex, dark, tortured, frantic, oppressive, noisy, cold, hypnotic, cynical, and haunting—terms often used by journalists to describe their musical universe.
